Garvey Schubert Barer Continues Growth, Adds Tax and Benefits Associate to Portland Office
Nov. 2, 2011, PORTLAND, ORE - Garvey Schubert Barer announced that Nikki E. Dobay has joined the firm’s Portland office as an associate in the Tax and Benefits Group. Dobay’s practice includes federal and state tax controversy and tax planning. She has represented clients in a wide variety of federal income tax and state and local tax matters and has significant experience with issues related to energy tax credits.
“We are pleased to add Nikki to our Tax and Benefits Group. We believe her experience and dedication will compleiment our existing strong tax practice,” said Larry Brant, chair of the firm’s Tax and Benefits Group.
Additionally, Dobay serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Oregon School of Law, teaching state and local taxation to law students. Prior to practicing law, she worked as a tax consultant in the State and Local Tax Group at Ernst & Young. Dobay also served as the judicial clerk at the Ohio Third District Court of Appeals.
Dobay is admitted in Oregon. She is a member of the Oregon State Bar, Multnomah County Bar, and is a former member of the Ohio State Bar. Dobay received her Juris Doctor from the University of Oregon cum laude 2003 and her LL.M. (taxation) magna cum laude from Capital University Law School.
