In an article that appeared in the daily radio management newsletter Tom Taylor NOW, Brad Deutsch explains that although the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) does not impose lowest-unit-rate requirements on a station selling standalone Internet campaign ads, the Federal Election Commission’s (FEC) regulation that requires newspapers and magazines to charge campaigns “comparable rates” to those charged to non-campaign advertisers might still apply. Brad also explains that campaigns cannot be offered any ‘extra’ discounts that are not otherwise available to all other advertisers.
