GSB Press Release

PORTLAND (September 6, 2016) Garvey Schubert Barer (GSB) today announced that Evan “Kelly” Meltzer will join the firm’s Portland office as an Owner. Drawing on his broad experience representing companies and individuals, Meltzer’s practice at GSB will include a focus on business formation, commercial and employment matters, real estate transactions, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions.

“Oregon’s economic outlook is improving and many businesses are making plans to pursue new opportunities,” said Eric Lindenauer, Managing Director of GSB’s Portland office. “Kelly brings to GSB exactly the kind of experience and contacts that will help our business clients succeed in today’s economic and legal environment. We are delighted to have someone with Kelly’s practical and insightful approach to legal services joining the Garvey Shubert Barer team.“

Meltzer has practiced law for more than 18 years, providing clients with legal counsel that prioritizes their business goals. Before joining GSB, Meltzer was an attorney in the Portland offices of Slinde Nelson Stanford, where he focused on business formations, sales, acquisitions, finance, commercial matters, employment, and on real estate matters including purchase and sale transactions, leasing, and finance.  He also previously practiced at Grenley, Rotenberg, Evans, Bragg & Bodie, P.C., and at Buckley Law P.C.

Outside the office, Meltzer travels extensively and enjoys skiing, rock climbing, cycling, and practicing yoga. He is a patron of Portland’s theaters, museums, and galleries, and he frequently explores the city’s thriving restaurant and live music scenes.

Meltzer received his J.D. from Lewis and Clark College’s Northwestern School of Law. He has a B.S. in Small Business Management from the University of Colorado.
