SEATTLE, April 3, 2007 – Garvey Schubert Barer is pleased to announce that Kenneth L. Schubert, Jr. and Timothy C. Burkart, Owners in the firm's Seattle office, have each been named a 2007 "Five Star: Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager" in Seattle magazine. Selection was based on surveys of more than 42,000 consumers, panel review and independent research.
A founding member of the firm in 1966, Mr. Schubert has devoted a substantial portion of his practice to estate planning and trust and probate administration since 1970. He has extensive experience advising owners of family-held businesses on estate planning and administering large estates and trusts. He also serves as lead counsel in litigation involving complex trusts, estates, and estate tax disputes. He has an active business practice as well, acting as outside general counsel to a number of large, closely-held family businesses. He earned his J.D. (1964, Order of the Coif) and his B.A. (1961, magna cum laude) from the University of Washington.
Mr. Burkart focuses on the areas of estate planning and estate and trust administration, as well as being active in handling estate and trust dispute resolutions. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section of the Washington State Bar Association and on the Estate and Gift Planning Council of the University of Washington. He earned his J.D., summa cum laude, Order of the Coif, from the University of Arizona in 1988 and his B.S. from Fordham University in 1976.
