Jared Van Kirk is an experienced senior associate who practices in the areas of labor and employment and intellectual property litigation. As a litigation attorney, Mr. Van Kirk has resolved cases of all sizes in state, federal, and administrative courts through settlement, summary resolution, and trial. He actively counsels his clients about realistic litigation positions, strategy appropriate to client goals, and settlement opportunities. Mr. Van Kirk’s practice includes regularly defending companies against allegations of discrimination, harassment, and other workplace disputes, and prosecuting substantial litigation of patent, trademark/trade dress, and other commercial disputes.
As a counselor on complex federal and state employment laws and regulations, Mr. Van Kirk provides his clients with advice and training concerning best practices for increasing legal compliance and avoiding disputes. Mr. Van Kirk’s expertise includes untangling the network of federal and state laws that guarantee employees family and medical leave and disability accommodation.
Mr. Van Kirk received his law degree from Harvard Law School and was a clerk for The Honorable Jerome Farris of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Van Kirk received his degree in Human Biology from Stanford University and engaged in genetic research concerning human evolution and complex diseases.
