SEATTLE, August 13, 2008 – Garvey Schubert Barer is pleased to announce that Stephen Rose has joined the firm's Seattle office as an owner in the firm's healthcare practice.
Previously a partner with K&L Gates, Mr. Rose joins Garvey Schubert Barer with more than 25 years experience representing hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers as well as healthcare trade groups in Alaska, Washington and Oregon. His practice focuses on Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, defending healthcare providers during government audits, developing and implementing corporate compliance plans, addressing certificate of need issues and assisting hospitals with credentialing and privileging issues.

Mr. Rose is a frequent lecturer on HIPAA and government audit issues and recently authored the Long-Term Care chapter of the Washington Health Law Manual. In addition to earning his law degree with honors from Whittier Law School, he holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Santa Clara University.
