Seattle, WA - Foster Garvey is pleased to announce Brittany “Bri” Charles has joined the firm as an Associate in the Investment Management practice.

Bri brings broad-based experience from Big Law, Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. Her deep background includes counseling multinational companies on regulatory and business issues, as well as assisting clients in U.S.-based and cross-border transactions within the United States, Canada, Latin America and Europe. Bri has negotiated a wide range of agreements across a variety of industries and sectors, including private equity, venture capital, technology and life science.

“We are excited to welcome Bri to our team,” said Investment Management practice Co-Chair Bob Perez. “Her experience handling complex, cross-border matters will play a key role in supporting our practice’s objectives as we continue to provide innovative solutions to our investor clients.”

Most recently, Bri was an associate in DLA Piper’s Venture & Growth Lending practice in Washington, D.C. where she advised lenders, sponsors, financial institutions, companies and high-net-worth individuals in all aspects of debt, equity and hybrid finance.

Bri currently serves as Commissioner for the Hispanic National Bar Association. She is also a member of Black Women in Asset Management and the American Bar Association's Business Law Section. An avid proponent of pro bono advocacy, Brittany was recently named to the District of Columbia Courts’ 12th annual Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll.

She obtained her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, where she had served as the Executive Editor for the Syracuse Journal of Science and Technology and VP of Conference Committee Chair for the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Law Student Division. Bri received her M.A. in International Relations from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. She holds B.S. and B.A. degrees in Criminal Justice and Political Science, respectively, from the University of Central Florida.
